For years I’ve struggled with accepting noise and lens distortion in photos. Primarily because my love for photography deepened when I started purchasing stock images for clients as a graphic designer. The more I read though is the more I understood that lenses are just tools and can be used creatively by photographers to tell their story … I remember reading about a photographer who took portraits with a wide angel lens and was famous for it (any-who I’m rambling).

The particular lens I used for this shot; a Rokinon 14mm t3.1, was rented for a real estate job and I decided to give it a whirl so I could get a feel of it.

My 4yr old and I went to Cherry Hill, just a few blocks away, to capture this awesome view of Kingston with the Red Stripe Beer in the foreground – he had fun spraying the water on the beer, not so much holding the speedlight.
