Okay! Okay! Okay! … Can you tell how excited I am about this photo? … Okay! On Day 3 I went to get a prop for that day’s photo and I saw these miniature boxing gloves so I bought them with the whole concept of a boxing Red Stripe Beer in mind.

How did  you get the gloves to on the beer? Well, I used a piece of wire my wife had purchased from a craft store (she used it to build a bird cage for my son’s assignment some time ago) and I tapped it up with … wait for it … electrical tape. Applying the wire left a few scratches on the beer which I liked, it made him look like he’d been in a fight for real.

I then created the floor of the ring with black corrugated cardboard (clapped to a table), tied the laces from my running shoes to two light stands to make the ropes and added my old Canon 299T speedlite to the back of the beer as a rim light with the intention of getting a lens flare … in post I did a bit of sweetening to the image and added a few filters to make it what it is.
