I remember seeing a video of Bob Marley playing football on my television screen as a child growing up and considering that February 6th was the celebration of the his 70 birthday I thought I would do something in memory of him.

In planning this shot I went to a local craft store just to see what I could find. It took me a while but eventually I found a pencil with Rastafarian hair and a key chain with the lion & flag; the football belongs to my children so I borrowed it … I used PVC pipes I had laying around the house (from my DIY photography days) to make the goal.

For this shot I wanted to mimic the sun so I used a yellow gel on the speed-light at ½ power and added a neutral density filter (ND4) to my lens to knock down the ambient light a bit … It took a couple tries to get this one right, mainly because the grass was wet that day and I didn’t want to mess up my clothes.
