Have you ever worn an outfit to a headshot session only to realize that something is wrong with it? Whether it was a missing button, a broken zipper, that stain you forgot about or it just doesn’t fit the way you remembered.

To prevent yourself from any discomfort or embarrassment on the day of your headshot session there is one simple thing you can do. Before shoot day, try it on. Yes! Try on our outfit.

Don’t Wait Until The Day Before
At least 7 days before your headshot session, open up your closet and take out a few possible outfits (it’s a good time to embrace your inner runway model and put on a fashion show 🙂; even get your significant other involved). Use this opportunity to get a sense of what feels comfortable, fits your theme or projects the image you are going for. It’s the best way to figure out what to wear for your next headshot session.

Now you have a chance to make any alterations needed, locate and clean any stains, or to acquire additional pieces of clothing that will complete the look.

It has been proven that what we wear impacts how we think and behave. It is one of the reasons I send an email to clients with a few tips on what to wear when they book a session. I understand that the more comfortable you are in your clothes the more confident you’ll look on camera, so grab a few items of clothing before your next headshot session and try them on.
